SAP Dismissal

Undergraduate students who fail to make satisfactory academic progress after reinstatement and graduate students who fail to make satisfactory academic progress after dismissal warning will be academically dismissed from Berklee.

Students dismissed from Berklee are ineligible to:

  • enroll at Berklee or use Berklee facilities for a period of no less than one semester (including Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Berklee Online degree program, Berklee Valencia, Berklee NYC, and the Berklee Abu Dhabi Center);
  • receive federal financial aid; or
  • participate in any Berklee-sanctioned class, ensemble, performance, travel, club, or activity.

Undergraduate Student Dismissal

Dismissed students may submit an inquiry about their dismissal status to be reviewed by the Enrollment Appeals Committee.

Graduate Student Dismissal

College and Conservatory graduate students placed on academic/financial aid dismissal will be unable to complete requirements in time to graduate with their cohort. Students dismissed from their programs are ineligible for future semesters of enrollment and financial aid eligibility at the College and Conservatory. Dismissed graduate students may submit an inquiry about their dismissal status to the Graduate Studies department at graduatestudies@berklee.edu.

Inquiry Escalation

Inquiries may be escalated and re-reviewed in only two circumstances. Requests to revisit an inquiry decision based solely on dissatisfaction with the outcome will not be considered. The Enrollment Appeals Committee is obligated to give students final answers on their cases in a timely manner, and have set up a system which accomplishes that goal.
