Information for Prospective Students

Benefits of SOMOS Latinx
The 2021–2022 Berklee Fact Sheet shows us that over 16 percent of domestic students and 12 percent of international students identify as Latinx and/or Hispanic. According to the United Nations, today, there are 33 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. We want to honor this community and welcome all entering fall students from Latin American countries or Latin American heritage to apply for the upcoming pre-orientation program. Whether you were born in Puerto Rico or are from a Latin American nation or family, you are invited to join SOMOS Latinx.
Participants can expect to benefit from:
- Individualized support with their onboarding experience into the College or Conservatory
- Opportunities to learn more about college life and curriculum through a personalized perspective
- Community building and social engagement opportunities with fellow entering Latinx/Hispanic students
- Space to celebrate their heritage
- Mentorship opportunities with Latinx/Hispanic faculty and staff

Accommodations

Information for Families
Families are invited to attend the SOMOS Latinx Family Welcome Reception on Tuesday, August 22. This reception will not cover information shared during the college-wide Fall Family Orientation, so we highly encourage families to be aware of this when making plans to travel to Boston.
Families will also have the opportunity to attend the SOMOS Latinx Ensemble Showcase on Saturday, August 26.
