How to Get Involved
The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as a visible and active organization to encourage and facilitate communication among the students of Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music. In recognition of its responsibility, the SGA strives to improve the quality of student life academically, socially, and artistically by addressing the needs and concerns of the students. The SGA fosters a unified and diverse community by encouraging interdepartmental collaboration and creating innovative programming within the Berklee communities. The SGA remains dedicated and responsive to the students of the Conservatory and the College.
Apply to join the SGA and represent the student voice for the school year 2018–2019. Elected officials will serve for the entirety of the school year as the link between students and the administration.
A ballot will consist of candidates' responses so that the student body can vote for the students they want serving in student government. Any student is eligible to run for a major/division representative seat; however, the executive board positions require leadership experience either as a previous student government member, orientation leader, resident assistant, or SAMS student. Students should additionally submit one letter of recommendation from a Berklee advisor, faculty, or staff member (two letters of recommendation are needed if applying for the executive board).
The application is due by March 21, and the ballot will be distributed to the student community on March 26 after spring break. Elected officials will begin with the SGA in April. We look forward to having you join us!
