The Djembe and Music of Mali, West Africa

The Djembe and Music of Mali, West Africa is a master class with master drummer Moussa Traoré. Professor Traoré will present a brief history of the djembe in Mali and how djembe music is an integral part of Malian culture and ceremony. He will do a presentation where he shows how the djembe speaks and sings and communicates cultural stories. The participants will learn a rhythm on djembe and experience the joy of drumming in community.
