Biography

Robert Lagueux is responsible for faculty development, graduate programs, and academic partnerships. He received his bachelor’s degree in music and history from Harvard University and his M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in music history from Yale University. While at Yale, he worked extensively with the Yale Graduate Teaching Center and was editor and coauthor of Becoming Teachers, the university’s official teaching guide for graduate students.

As a Fulbright scholar in Hong Kong, Lagueux supported the city’s transition to a four-year, American model of higher education, providing resources and guidance on general education, faculty and graduate student teaching, and programs for first-year students. He has offered workshops on teaching and learning in China, Thailand, and Vietnam.

A percussionist and drummer, Lagueux has published and presented on a variety of topics around teaching, learning, and music history, most recently in the Journal of Music History Pedagogy.
