Celebrated harpist Brandee Younger will join the Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice for this week's Gathering!

Younger is known for infusing classical, jazz, soul, and funk influences with the harp tradition, pioneered by her predecessors and idols Dorothy Ashby and Alice Coltrane. Younger leads her own ensemble, performs as a soloist, and has worked as a sideman for such musicians as Pharoah Sanders, Jack DeJohnette, Charlie Haden, Ravi Coltrane, and Reggie Workman. She has also collaborated with popular artists including Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Common, The Roots, and Moses Sumney.

Don't miss this opportunity for a Q&A with this incredible artist!

The Gathering is an ongoing series presented by the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. Events are open to the greater Berklee community and public, and feature performances, guest lectures, workshops, and discussions—all with gender and racial equity as a guiding principle. This Gathering is being conducted in partnership with the Berklee String Department.
