John Case

Interim CFO John Case oversees the Finance and Accounting Services Department, as well as adding significant value to other strategic administrative and operational initiatives, including improvements to budget systems and processes across Berklee. Case joined Berklee in May 2023 as a financial advisor, providing consultation to the president and finance team. In this role, he worked with the finance team on the S&P rating agency presentation, collaborated with the Workday and finance teams to launch the Workday Optimization project, and worked with all departments and leadership to finalize the FY24 budget.

Prior to coming to Berklee, Case held various positions at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, including executive vice president for operations and business affairs, senior vice president for operations and chief financial officer, and adjunct assistant professor in the Community Health and Preventive Medicine Department. Case also served as practice leader and strategist in the Higher Education/Academic Medical Center Practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, and founded his own private financial higher education consulting practice. He has held other leadership positions in private and public higher education organizations as well as academic medical centers. In all of these positions and organizations, Case led high-performing teams, mentoring team members and supporting their professional development and career advancement. He has championed various strategic projects including public private partnerships, organizational change management, real estate and facility development, and operational excellence initiatives. 

Case holds a Doctorate of Education, higher education management, from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a Master of Business Administration from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, and a Bachelor of Science in accounting, with a computer science minor, from the State University of New York (SUNY) Geneseo in Geneseo, New York.
