Drummer, producer, educator, and Berklee alum Carlin Muccular will present a drum set clinic entitled the Power of the Groove. In it, he will discuss and demonstrate his wide-ranging influences as a musician and how these have shaped his vision and abilities as an artist. He will demystify the "gospel chops" phenomenon while inspiring drummers to keep the groove their main focus. Students will also have an opportunity to ask questions.

Muccular is a gifted musician and producer from Richmond, California, who has always been surrounded by music. His first musical performances came at the tender age of six, singing and playing drums in church. He received his first taste of national exposure when he won the 1999 Guitar Center National Drum-Off competition in Hollywood, California. Afterwards, he was named the top amateur drummer in the country at the age of 15.

Since then, Muccular has laid drum tracks on two Billboard no. 1 albums. He has shared the stage and recorded with industry greats such as Abe Laboriel (Elton John), Alex Acuña (Carlos Santana), Patti LaBelle, Johnny “Natural” Najera (Usher), and Paul Jackson Jr. (Michael Jackson, Jay Leno's Tonight Show).

Muccular currently serves on drums with six-time Grammy award-winning artist Israel Houghton. He has performed with some of gospel music’s most awarded artists and producers, including Aaron Lindsey, Byron Cage, Canton Jones, Kierra Sheard, Tamela Mann, and Karen Clark Sheard, to name a few.

Muccular holds dual bachelor's degrees in music production and engineering and music business/management from Berklee College of Music. In 2010, he signed a deal with the biggest music publisher in the world, Sony ATV. Muccular has been nominated for Stellar and GMA Dove Awards as a producer. He has also worked with award-winning artists such as Chris Brown, Ciara, and Australian Idol Jessica Mauboy. In addition, he has placed music in the TV and film industry on networks such as Fox and TV One. In 2018, Muccular launched his most recent project, the music play-along company Shedtracks.com.

Muccular presently serves on drums at the 30,000-member megachurch World Changers Church International in Atlanta, Georgia. He plays on television and in front of live crowds in excess of 5,000 people every week via the Changing Your World Broadcast with Creflo Dollar. The broadcast reaches nearly 1 billion homes on six continents and airs daily on over 100 stations across networks such as BET, TBN, Daystar, the Word Network, and the Church Channel. Muccular humbly attributes his musical gifts and success to God. “Only God has blessed me with this gift to create music. It is an honor and a privilege to be his instrument," he said.
