Director's Note
Do you know what you want? Are you taking action toward that today? If yes and yes, I hope you know that makes you heroic.
A tragic accident and a season of major life changes catapults our senior valedictorian into a quest for self-discovery. Sam has to decide: who am I, and what do I want when the driving force of my life hands me the wheel, and I’m terrified to drive? Over the course of 90 minutes for us (but for Sam, in the time it takes to turn the key in a car’s ignition), The Mad Ones plunges us into the shards of traumatic loss. However, like all the best art where death looms large, we also learn as much, if not more, about life. We hope you will go on this wild ride with us and come to love and delight in Sam, Kelly, Beverly, and Adam as they recreate (and embellish) memory, reckon with unnamed feelings, and help piece together a brave, resilient, and heroic Sam.
