The latest endeavor from Bhi Bhiman (pronounced bee-min) marks his first self-produced project since 2013, when he released Substitute Preacher. That EP of cover tunes included his take on "Walk of Life" (later featured in an Apple Watch commercial starring Alice Cooper).
The new album begins with "With Love from Russia," written for author Dave Eggers's 2016 anti-Trump campaign 30 Songs, 30 Days. Bhiman's single was the third song released, after cuts by Death Cab for Cutie and Aimee Mann. From there, Bhiman began work on what he describes as his "Curtis Mayfield meets Pink Floyd" record. Some highlights include "Beyond the Border," Have a Little Faith," "GIANT," and "Brother."
