With excitement and great reverence we celebrate the centennials of three visionary icons: Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, and Thelonious Monk. This program will reveal not only their powerful unifying traits, but also the diverse ways they have influenced the evolution of jazz. Tonight's carefully selected all-star band matches their ambition and artistry. The group includes:

Danilo Pérez - Artistic Director, Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI)
Joe Lovano - Gary Burton Chair in Jazz Performance, BGJI Faculty
Terri Lyne Carrington - Zildjian Chair in Performance, BGJI Faculty
Ben Street - Artist in Residence at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute
Jason Palmer - Assistant Professor at Berklee
Patrice Williamson - Associate Professor at Berklee

All of these musicians are world-class bandleaders and composers, virtuosos of their respective instruments, and some are the most recognizable descendants of tonight's Jazz 100 honorees. Together, this diverse group will offer an enlightening and original reflection of some of history's most important artists. The Berklee Global Jazz Institute 2017 summit celebrates the impact of Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, and Ella Fitzgerald in today’s global jazz era. The concert features Danilo Pérez and BGJI graduate ensembles.
