Join legendary saxophonist Bill Pierce for a special evening of jazz, featuring his quartet and the acclaimed Berklee World Strings, directed by Eugene Friesen.
A Berklee alumnus and chair emeritus of the Woodwind Department, Pierce has mentored generations of world-class saxophonists, including Branford Marsalis, Grace Kelly, and Melissa Aldana. His performance credits include years as music director for Art Blakey’s the Jazz Messengers and work with Tony Williams, placing him among the elite in modern jazz history.
The program features original compositions and jazz standards arranged by Eric Gould, former chair of the Jazz Composition Department. This marks Gould’s third collaboration with the World Strings, following concerts for Ron Carter and Kenny Barron.
Performing in this event are Bill Pierce (saxophone), Eric Gould (piano), Neal Smith (drums), and Leon Lee Dorsey (bass).
The Berklee World Strings, under Friesen’s direction, are known for genre-crossing collaborations with artists like Joe Lovano, Darol Anger, and Paul Winter. Friesen currently tours with Paul Simon.
Experience a night that bridges jazz tradition, innovation, and the vibrant legacy of Berklee talent.
