Music Notation Calligraphy Club (MNCC)

Founded 2023

The club was founded to preserve, promote, and practice the art and tradition of handwritten music notation. The club joins together to practice writing music by hand in various ways. These will often include practicing skills that will be vital in day-to-day class activities as well.

Mission

The MNCC aims to preserve, practice, and celebrate the beauty and efficiency of handwritten music notation as a medium communication, of expression, and of art.

Vision

MNCC believes in the practical use of the skills that members forge together in the club. These skills reduce the time you need to think about writing notes while in high-stress environments, such as tests or aural exams. The rules that members learn are also applicable to electronic notation, as the rules of both handwritten and electronic are the same.
