Global Initiatives

Global Initiatives develops and manages events, partnerships, and collaborations to enhance Berklee's musical and academic presence in the world.

Berklee India Exchange

The Berklee India Exchange draws on, celebrates, and shares the rich and multidimensional heritage of Indian music as well as its modern incarnations.


Berklee's Campus in Valencia, Spain 

With the Valencia campus, Berklee offers a new way for musicians around the world to join the global music community—as performers, as practitioners, and as leaders. Berklee's campus in Valencia focuses on five main areas: master’s degree programs, study abroad in Spain, the International Career Center, the Mediterranean Music Institute, and Special Programs and Certificates.

Berklee Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship

The Berklee Institute for Creative Entrepreneurship (BerkleeICE) is a network of creative change-makers who share the common belief that the artistic process and the entrepreneurial journey share the same DNA.

OMI logoOpen Music Initiative

The Open Music Initiative is a nonprofit initiative of Berklee College of Music, founded by BerkleeICE in partnership with the MIT Media Lab and a number of other leading media industry and academic institutions. Open Music's goal is to identify gaps in the music ecosystem that, when corrected, would result in additional compensation flowing to music creators and contributors.


Berklee is renovating Power Station at BerkleeNYC into a state-of-the-art recording and video production facility, serving the city’s music, theater, television, and film industries, as it has for many years. In addition to the studio renovation, the building’s lower level will be converted into a flexible-use practice/performance venue, including an affordable rehearsal space featuring a professional-size stage and state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and video technology. It will also include a video control room to capture and post-produce video from throughout the building; a virtual reality/augmented reality studio; and flexible spaces for ensemble practice rooms and classrooms. Berklee also plans to transform the building’s common spaces to feature displays that celebrate New York’s musical significance and the history of the studio.

Berklee is committed to proactively exploring how these new technologies can transform the creative industries and to developing new programs and initiatives that prepare Berklee graduates to become the artists creating at the forefront of this industry. 

Music and Health InstituteBerklee Music and Health Institute

The Berklee Music and Health Institute engages the innovative ecosystem of academic, artistic, scientific, entrepreneurial, and technological talent, bringing together the most creative minds to help accelerate ideation and develop solutions that can improve health and wellbeing for individuals and communities. Launched with seed funding from the Barr Foundation, the institute explores the intersections of music, medicine, and health, and partners with experts in academia, science, business, technology, and the music industry.
