Berklee Launches Search for Next Provost
Dear Berklee community,
I am excited to announce that we have launched a national search for Berklee's next executive vice president (EVP) and provost.
As Berklee’s chief academic officer, the EVP and provost will lead Academic Affairs, shaping our academic vision and advancing the strategic plan across our degree-granting programs. In partnership with faculty, chairs, deans, and staff across disciplines and locations, this leader will strengthen shared purpose, trust, and a collective commitment to academic excellence. Building on Berklee’s strengths in curricular innovation and artistic distinction, the EVP and provost will also expand global engagement and professional experiences that help students and graduates thrive in creative careers.
Above all, we are looking for a leader who genuinely understands Berklee's creative community, listens well, and brings people together around our shared mission.
For this critical position, we have formed an internal search committee, detailed below, representing a broad range of community members. The committee will work closely with executive search firm WittKieffer, which is engaged to assist in conducting a comprehensive search. Additionally, community members are invited to share feedback, providing valuable input that will help guide the search process. Confidential applications, inquiries, nominations, and referrals can be emailed to the WittKieffer executive search team.
I would like to thank the members of the search committee for dedicating their time and expertise to this important process. I look forward to updating you on progress as we work to fill this essential role.
Yours,
Jim Lucchese
President
