Jay Barnes

Assistant Vice President for Digital Learning

As assistant vice president for digital learning, Jay Barnes is responsible for Berklee’s learning management system, for overseeing the implementation of blended and online teaching modalities in certain areas of study, and for creating online learning materials to supplement classroom instruction.

He has 28 years of experience managing high-performing teams focused on helping organizations leverage technology effectively. Barnes’ experience ranges from technology implementation, software development, and program management to web software and process redesign.

His additional endeavors include starting a nonprofit that mitigated environmental impacts of events like the Boston Marathon, studying digital media production at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) at Boston University, and working in the U.S. Senate.
