Executive Sessions Returns for Second Season

Berklee's Cafe 939 hosts a series a shows featuring local CEOs and corporate executives showing off their musical chops.

Berklee announces a second season of Executive Sessions, a concert series showcasing bands whose members include Boston-area CEOs and corporate executives, at Berklee's Cafe 939, located at 939 Boylston Street, Boston. The series, booked and produced by Tom Simons, president and creative director of communications firm PARTNERS+simons, blasted off in a big way last year, and has been expanded from three to six shows for this year.

Saturday, October 4

French Lick featuring Boston Celtics CEO Wyc Grousebeck

French Lick is a classic rock cover band featuring vocalist Jordan Siegel and bassist Pete Galea, both formerly of Fooled by April; lead guitarist Dave Andonian and keyboardist Michael Tzannes, both formerly with Captain Miles Band; and drummer Wyc Grousbeck, Boston Celtics CEO and owner. The band has played several large charity events around Boston including the 2006 Love Lane Hoe Down, where they opened for Gregg Allman, and the Year Up Carnival where they played with Shaggy. French Lick's song list is rooted in classic rock, including covers from the Doors, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, U2, Rolling Stones and the Who.

Rockhoppers featuring Giles McNamee, managing director of McNamee Lawrence & Co. LLC

Rockhoppers, featuring Billy Klienfeld, Chris Kickham, Charles Gorman, Barry Lyden. Mike Tafolo and McNamee, play original music by McNamee as well as covers by Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, Townes Van Zandt, and others.

Wednesday, November 5

A Roll of Quarters and a Pedal Steel featuring Chip Rives, CEO, TRP Marketing

Rives, an alt-country songwriter when he's not administering major corporate sponsorships for some of the biggest corporations in the country, will play his original music with Berklee students.

Wednesday, November 19

Javier Marin

Marin, the publisher and CEO of New England's free, weekly Spanish language newspaper El Planeta, brings his band, which also includes two JetBlue pilots, to play an Executive Session during Berklee's Latin Culture Month.
