Val Jeanty, who teaches with the Ensemble Department and Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice, has been named a 2026 recipient of a Doris Duke Artist Award.
Jeanty, a composer, percussionist, and turntablist, is the fourth Berklee recipient of the prestigious award since 2019.

The $400,000 grant offers students access to experiential learning opportunities within the professional industry and the chance to study at Berklee Valencia.
