Masters on the Road
The Masters on the Road series features a prominent alumni artist mentoring a group of top Berklee students who auditioned for the opportunity who tour with the artist as a band. Past “masters" have included Ingrid Jensen, Cyrus Chestnut, Donald Harrison, Melissa Aldana, Chris Cheek, and Donny McCaslin. The program builds on intensive rehearsals with the master and culminates in performances at venues that have included the Kennedy Center, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, the Regattabar, the Deer Head Inn, and a broadcast with WBGO from the Red Room at Cafe 939.

Miguel Zenón leads selected students to perform his repertoire at Birdland Jazz Club in New York.
Tom Oren won the 2018 Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz International Piano Competition, judged by Herbie Hancock. He is an honors graduate of the Israeli Conservatory of Music, studied at the renowned Rimon Jazz Institute, and attended Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship.
Fresh off two performances together at the Monterey Jazz Festival, master saxophonist George Garzone and the Berklee Global Jazz Ambassadors will perform The World of Garzone, a program made up of Garzone’s favorite original compositions from his critically acclaimed performing and recording career.
