Summer in the CitySamuel Batista
Panamanian saxophonist Samuel Batista began playing at age 14. Later, he joined the Danilo Pérez Foundation, and is currently finishing his studies at Berklee College of Music. During his time at Berklee, he's had the privilege to play and learn from musicians including Danilo Perez, John Patitucci, Joe Lovano, Terri Lyne Carrington, and many more. He is currently working as a bandleader of his quartet with Papuna Sharikadze (piano), James Dale (bass), and Eviatar Slivnik (drums). They are performing around the Greater Boston area and are in the process of recording their first album, Voices of Freedom.
