Through written and spontaneous composition, slide guitarist and improviser David Tronzo and classical guitarist Kim Perlak create modern music that honors both traditions. Their duo has been in residence in the Berklee College of Music Guitar Department since 2014, where he serves as professor, and she as chair. Their work includes performance, recording, and team-teaching of two courses for the department: Modern Writing and Spontaneous Composition. Their playing has been featured in guest residencies at festivals, concert series, and workshops at the national level. This concert will showcase solo and duo music from their body of work, as well as spontaneously composed music.
