Braxton Cook is one of this generation’s most exciting emerging voices in the jazz world. Not only does he exhibit world-class virtuosity on the alto saxophone, but he also is a uniquely talented singer-songwriter who blends jazz, soul, R&B, and alternative music into a new sound all his own.

In 2017, Fader called Cook a “jazz marvel” and “jazz prodigy,” and he was named as a top-five jazz artist to watch in the June 2018 issue of Ebony.

Upon moving to New York City while just a freshman at the Juilliard School, Cook met Grammy-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott and became a long-term member in Scott’s band, further honing his skills on the road. He has toured and performed with Christian McBride Big Band and Marquis Hill, among others.

Cook released his debut EP Sketch in 2014, followed by the EP Braxton Cook Meets Butcher Brown the following year. In April 2017, Cook released his debut album Somewhere in Between, followed by tours in the UK and Japan. Last year, Cook released his sophomore album, No Doubt, which debuted at no. 2 on the iTunes jazz charts and amassed 1 million streams in its first month.
