"Because of Berklee City Music, I have been able to feel more confident with myself and my voice." - Savannah Koplow, Preparatory Academy student
Are you fairly new to your instrument but already know that you love music? Or maybe you’ve already been involved with music for a few years but want more opportunities to learn and perform. The Berklee City Music Preparatory Academy gives you access to Berklee faculty members and instruction including:
- music theory and musicianship courses;
- private instruction; and
- the PULSE Music Method online music education curriculum.
This program takes place on Saturdays throughout the school year and is open to fourth- through eighth-graders in the Boston or Greater Boston area. You can apply beginning in March to start the following September, and students are selected for the program based on their application, audition, and interview. This is a scholarship-based program, so there is no cost to participate.
If you’re enrolled in “Prep Academy,” you are also invited to participate in the Berklee City Music Preparatory Workshop, which is a week-long program in the summer open to fourth- through eighth-graders. This is an intense program, led by Berklee College of Music faculty members, that culminates with a concert performance featuring students.
