The Music of Wang Leehom

Mr. Wang Leehom '99

On Sunday, November 13, 2016, superstar Chinese-American singer-songwriter and cultural ambassador Wang Leehom, who has sold millions of albums around the world, was honored with an honorary Doctor of Music degree from Berklee at Boston's Symphony Hall. The evening featured an international cast of students and faculty joining Wang in performance of his timeless music, which is a revolutionary mix of pop, rock, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, classical, and traditional Chinese music that has won over global audiences and 60 million social media followers. He is also a music producer, actor, film director, performer, and 1999 Berklee alumnus.

The Music of Wang Leehom cohosts were Gerald Chan, Michael Eisenson, David Gross-Loh, Harry Hui, Daniel Auerbach, Jack Wadsworth, Phoebe Chen Huang, and Nelson L. Huang.

Proceeds from VIP purchases created a scholarship fund in Wang’s name to provide support to students from China who attend Berklee. For more details, contact Mirek Vana via email or by calling 617-747-2941.
