Berklee Presidential Search Update

Dear Berklee community,

I am pleased to share the presidential position description, shaped by the invaluable feedback received from the recent survey and listening sessions. Your input was instrumental in bringing this comprehensive description to fruition. We are listening carefully to your voices, and we are committed to continuing an inclusive and collaborative process that reflects the rich diversity of our institution.

With this commitment in mind, we formed an advisory committee for the presidential search, made up of students, faculty, and staff, to include an extensive range of important constituencies at Berklee. This group will have the opportunity to give confidential candidate feedback to the presidential search committee.

Here are the dedicated individuals who will serve on the advisory committee:

  • Rodney Alejandro, Chair, Songwriting
  • Prince Charles Alexander, Professor, Music Production and Engineering
  • Alicia Bower, Associate Professor, Liberal Arts and Sciences
  • Kurt Douglas, Associate Professor, Dance
  • Kim Haack, Associate Vice President of Administration, Boston Conservatory at Berklee
  • Ashley Kraus, Student, Berklee College of Music
  • Sean McMahon, Chair, Screen Scoring
  • Nichelle Mungo, Associate Professor, Voice
  • Harold Rivas, Student, Boston Conservatory at Berklee
  • Aja Burrell Wood, Managing Director, Berklee Jazz and Gender Institute

For those interested in learning more about the presidential search process, we encourage you to watch the video above featuring presidential search committee members Grace Kelly ’12 and Enrique Gonzalez Müller ’99.

Finally, I want to remind you that while the survey has closed, we are still actively seeking your input. Please feel free to submit any additional feedback via email at presidentsearch@berklee.edu.

Thank you once again for your dedication to Berklee, and for contributing to this important process.

Sincerely,

Bill Kaiser signature
