Kristine Moyer Higgins

Kristine Higgins has built two parallel careers—one in business and one in music—that have continually intersected throughout her life.

After earning a degree in music education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania, Higgins began performing professionally as a saxophonist. She freelanced in the Atlantic City area for several years, including a run of Sugar at the Claridge Hotel & Casino, where she performed the saxophone solo from the pit orchestra while Joe Namath mimed it nightly onstage. During this period, she also taught private lessons in saxophone, flute, and clarinet.

Higgins then spent almost a decade in operations management with a major national health and wellness franchise, ultimately holding senior leadership roles and overseeing roughly 750 employees. Throughout that time, she continued performing as a saxophonist in a wind symphony and in pit orchestras for summer-stock theater productions.

She later earned an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she served as music director of the Wharton Follies, the school's annual student-written and -produced musical. In 1996, she moved to Boston and built a consulting, marketing, and client-services career at Vertex Partners, Digitas, e-Dialog, and Health Dialog.

Higgins stepped back from corporate life to focus on her family, a transition that coincided with joining Berklee's Presidential Advisory Council in 2007. She previously served as a Berklee trustee from 2010 to 2019 and returned to the board in October 2025 for a new term.

“I don't think I'm fully ‘me’ unless I'm playing music myself—and helping make sure someone else gets that same chance,” said Higgins. She continues to rehearse with two jazz combos—still learning, still loving every minute. She and her husband, Bob, live in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with their twins.
