Boston Conservatory at Berklee Plays the Kennedy Center

Two outstanding ensembles from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, composed almost entirely of graduate students, will perform on the John F. Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage. The BoCoCelli cello quartet, and No Strings Attached, a brass quintet, will share an hourlong program in our nation's palace of the perfoming arts.
BoCoCelli is composed of some of the Conservatory's best and brightest cellists, and is directed by Rhonda Rider, chair of the Conservatory's Strings Department. They will perform Tomaso Albioni's Adagio; selections from Giachino Rossini's Barber of Seville; and two pieces by tango master Astor Piazzolla, "Oblivion" and "La Muerte de Angel." They'll close their portion of the concert with a ripping rendition of Lalo Shrifin's Mission Impossible theme.
No Strings Attached includes some of Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s finest brass players, directed by Larry Isaacson, associate director of the Music Division and chair of the Brass Department. The ensemble will perform Anthony Plog's "Four Sketches for Brass Quintet"; J.S. Bach's Contrapunctus IX, from The Art of the Fugue. They'll close the concert with the Suite Americana, mvmts. 1, 3, and 5, by Enrique Crespo.
The concert will also be streamed live in high definition video, and archived for later viewing. The performance is free and open to public. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early.
