Meghan Stabile
In a New York Times profile of Meghan Stabile, Blue Note Records president Don Was said that when he was trying to learn about new developments on the jazz scene, all roads pointed to Stabile. “She appeared to be at the center of the energy,” said Was. Stabile, who founded Revive Music Group just before graduating from Berklee in 2006, did so to promote an underrecognized group of jazz musicians who approached the music with a hip-hop flair. Her visionary and trailblazing work as an impresario led to a number of unusual first-time collaborations, including Roy Ayers and Pete Rock, as well as Mos Def and the Robert Glasper Experiment. Her Revive-Music.com platform was known for promoting new jazz and highlighting emerging voices in the genre.
