Irma Seleman, a vocalist from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, traces her love for music to her father, a musician who introduced her to many genres, from traditional Malaysian and pop to R&B and funk. She began her formal training at the age of 18 at the International College of Music in Kuala Lumpur, a Berklee International Network school, and transferred to Berklee to continue her studies.

“The BIN school really helped me with core music knowledge and prepared me for Berklee,” she says.

At Berklee, Seleman is studying performance and contemporary writing and production; she’s writing, arranging, and producing songs that blend her native sound with soul and R&B, and then performing them with her band. She has her sights set on cutting an album and someday running her own production house.

In this video, she performs her song “The Price.”
