The Rethink Music program, created by Berklee College of Music and Midem(Opens in a new window), recently hosted the first-ever Rethink Music(Opens in a new window) Valencia event. The one-day workshop focused on soliciting and testing new business models for the music industry. The day began with a keynote address from Panos Panay, founder and CEO of Sonicbids(Opens in a new window). A panel discussion titled “Visions for the Future” included several music executives: Ventura Barba, co-founder and chairman of Tenzing Media(Opens in a new window); Laurence Le Ny, director of music and cultural partnerships for Orange(Opens in a new window); Peter Jenner, consultant for the World Intellectual Property Organization(Opens in a new window); Paul Sonkamble, head of innovation for EMI Nordic(Opens in a new window); and Marc Marot, chairman of Crown Talent and Media Group(Opens in a new window).
