After graduating from Berklee in 2009, drummer Jon Stoltzfus was recruited to join the band the Forward Motion. Things were going so well for the band that they had decided to rent a house together and fully commit to making a go of it. The band’s question to Stoltzfus was, “Are you in or out?”

Stoltzfus was in.

Since then, the Forward Motion has been steadily writing, recording, and touring the northeast, building their fan base one gig at a time. In addition to living and performing together, almost all of the band members earn additional money by giving private lessons at the Martocchio Music School in Simsbury, Connecticut, which is owned by 1975 alumnus Jim Martocchio.
