In a master class, Schneider shares a humorous moment with jazz composition major Juan Ospina.
Schneider offers some advice to student Mike Duke after listening to his piece, with student Yuki Ito looking on.
Schneider spoke eloquently of the challenges of getting started in today's marketplace.
Schneider's pieces start at the keyboard as she experiments with and sketches initial ideas, whether they be melodic, harmonic, or rhythmic.
Schneider answered many questions at a public clinic with equal parts charm and humor.

Grammy Award-winning composer, arranger, and bandleader Maria Schneider was on campus November 13-16 as a Herb Alpert Visiting Professor. She met twice with students in a master class; presented college-wide clinics—one on writing and one on business/career issues; visited various classes; worked with the Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra; and conducted the BCJO in a concert of her music.
