Immunization Requirements

Massachusetts law requires that all students enrolled at Berklee provide documentation that they have been immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, and hepatitis B before attending classes. Residential students who entered Berklee in the fall 2005 semester or later are also required to be protected against meningococcal (meningitis).

New Students, Including Transfer Students

We recommend that you get the shots required and send the Office of Admissions your Immunization Form and Meningitis Vaccination Waiver Form as soon as possible. Make sure that you have all of the required shots; it takes only one missing or expired shot to cause delays during check-in. If you submitted your form but are still receiving communications from us indicating otherwise, you may have omitted something, and you should contact Admissions immediately at 800 BERKLEE (237-5533), 617 747-2222, or admissions@berklee.edu to follow up.

Entering Students: Send your forms to Berklee College of Music, Office of Admissions, 1140 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02215-3693, U.S.A.; or fax them to 617 747-2047.

Continuing/Returning Students

You may have some expired immunizations, such as tetanus/diphtheria, which you will need to update. Your check-in procedures cannot be finalized until you have submitted to the Office of the Registrar written documentation of your immunizations. (Download the Immunization Form and Meningitis Vaccination Waiver Form.) These records may be mailed, dropped off in person, or sent by fax to 617 747-8520. If you have already provided us with these records upon admittance, it is not necessary to resubmit them.

Since immunizations must be up to date by the time you check in, you will be notified by email after registration if you are missing any immunizations. If you do not resolve outstanding immunization requirements, you will not be able to check in, and will run the risk of losing your class schedule.
