Boston Conservatory at Berklee Summer Dance Intensive

Boston Conservatory at Berklee Summer Dance Intensive is a three-week program featuring acclaimed guest artists and faculty that offers the trademark Boston Conservatory combination of rigorous classical training and a cutting-edge approach to contemporary dance.
This program is designed for students and pre-professionals between the ages of 15 and 22 who possess a strong technical background in dance. Participants must also have an interest in expanding into contemporary ballet, modern dance, and improvisation.
Faculty and Guest Instructors
Summer Dance Intensive is led by renowned Limón reconstructor and Boston Conservatory faculty member Kurt Douglas. Guest instructors for summer 2022 include Nicole Corea, Megan Williams, and Thang Dao.
Megan Williams is an independent dance artist, choreographer, teacher, and repetiteur who holds a B.F.A. from The Juilliard School and an M.F.A. from Sarah Lawrence College. In the 2020–2021 season, she guest taught in a variety of settings, choreographed two films for the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, and made two commissioned dance films for the Katonah Museum of Art in New York, where she premiered a site-adaptive work in July 2021 called, Beauty Persists. Williams taught Professional Level Ballet at the Gibney Dance Center from 2016 to 2020 and currently teaches ballet at Sarah Lawrence College. In addition, she teaches a yoga-based somatic practice and ballet at Purchase College and provides weekly classes for members of the Limón Dance Company.. Learn more about Williams here.
Nicole Corea is originally from Palmyra, New York. Following her early training with Sandy Stramonine and Lynne Kareken, she completed her B.F.A. at The Juilliard School.Since then, she has performed on some of the world’s most renowned stages, including the Metropolitan Opera House and Joyce Theater (New York City), The Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.), Teatro Romano (Spoleto, Italy), and the Stanislavsky Theater (Moscow, Russia). She has been a member of many reputable dance companies as a soloist and principal dancer, including Ballet Hispanico of New York, Elisa Monte Dance, Ballet Memphis, the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, and the Metropolitan Opera Ballet. For the past two years, Corea has resided in Australia, where she has taught, coached and performed in both Brisbane and Sydney. She was most recently involved in a creative residency at the Sydney Opera House with choreographer Xanthe Geeves, creating an original work to be performed by the Australian Ballet. Thang Dao currently resides in Los Angeles and New York City as a freelance choreographer, teacher, and coach. He holds an M.F.A. from Hollins University and an M.A. from New York University’s Gallatin School. Dao received his formal dance education from The Juilliard School and Boston Conservatory, where he received his B.F.A.. Hailed by The Boston Globe as “a choreographer to watch,” Dao’s works have been presented internationally in major venues across Europe and Asia, and have been performed nationally in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Houston, Austin, Boston, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Phoenix, Miami, and Chicago with great acclaim.
