For nearly 40 years, Berklee Press has been the only publisher of books based on Berklee’s time-tested teaching methods. USA Book News recently recognized Berklee Press in the 2015 International Book Awards, with four titles receiving honors.

Berklee Press swept the Performing Arts: Film, Theater, Dance, Music category. Project Management for Musicians by Jonathan Feist won the award for the category. Three other Berklee Press titles—Learning To Listen by Gary Burton, Songwriting Strategies by Mark Simos, and The Berklee Book of Jazz Harmony by Joe Mulholland and Tom Hojnacki—were named as finalists.

"Part of what makes all of our titles so special is that our authors have tested their material on hundreds—even thousands—of students before they publish, so our materials come from a place of deep knowledge, rigorous peer review and refinement, and extensive road-testing," explains Feist, an award-winning author and editor-in-chief of Berklee Press. Feist’s Project Management for Musicians is currently used as the textbook in his Berklee Online course of the same name.

"Berklee Press books have always been a means for people all around the world to get a taste of the magic that happens on campus, thanks in large part to the help of our distribution partner Hal Leonard Corp," continues Feist. "The diversity of these four titles echo some of the diversity of what happens here, from Gary Burton's autobiography as a performer, to the jazz harmony book that's such a comprehensive reference, to Mark's songwriting book, to my own book about the business side of music project management. I think they all make meaningful contributions to the literature, each in its own way."

Berklee Press titles are available at most major book retailers. For more information, visit berkleepress.com.
