Berklee Alumni Nominated for 2015 Latin Grammy Awards

Seventeen Berklee alumni received 25 Latin Grammy Award across 10 categories including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Seventeen Berklee alumni received 25 Latin Grammy Award nominations for producing, engineering, mixing, mastering, and songwriting across 10 categories.

Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra ’82 received nods in a number of major categories including Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Guerra has won 15 Latin Grammys and 2 Grammy Awards.

Benny Faccone ’78 and Adrián Trujillo ’11 are nominated in the Record of the Year category for their work on Camila’s “La Vida Entera.” Faccone, a veteran recording engineer and mixer, is looking to add to his 17 Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards.

Gustavo Borner ’89 and Justin Moshkevich ’07 are nominated in the Album of the Year category for Pepe Aguilar’s MTV Unplugged. Under the Best Latin Children’s Album, Ben Gundersheimer ’94, who performs as Mister G, is nominated for his latest release, Los Animales, featuring faculty bassist Oscar Stagnaro.

Winners will be announced at the 16th annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony, November 19, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The Univision Network will broadcast the proceedings live at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Since the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences founded the awards in 2000, 28 Berklee alumni or professors have received 78 Latin Grammy Awards.
