Tom Huangpu is an indie-folk singer-songwriter who values authenticity and vulnerability in his craft. He believes that connection and understanding are among life’s most important values, and he uses his music to express emotions and experiences that words alone can’t fully capture. Huangpu’s writing is influenced by artists like Lizzy McAlpine, Leith Ross, and Ryan Beatty, and is rooted in honest lyricism and emotional depth.
Originally from Philadelphia and now based in Boston, he grew up in a community where music was ever-present but lacked personal meaning. That changed when he began writing and listening to songs that spoke truthfully—music that helped him find clarity and connection. Though Huangpu writes to better understand himself, his ultimate hope is to create music that resonates deeply with others and helps them feel seen.
