Cuban-American pianist Maria Medina began her musical education in Cuba at age seven, earning an associate degree in music performance and education from the Conservatorio de Música Esteban Salas in Santiago de Cuba, where she frequently performed as a classical soloist and accompanist. She later graduated from the State College of Florida, studying under Russian pianist Aza Torshkoeva, and received support from the Steinway Society of Sarasota Scholarship, the SCF Presidential Jazz Scholarship, and the 2022 FCSAA Student Artist State Competition Award. During that time, she performed at multiple venues in the Bradenton–Sarasota area, including concerts with the Bradenton Symphony Orchestra and the SCF Jazz Band.
Currently, Medina is pursuing a degree in contemporary writing and production with a minor in film and media scoring at Berklee College of Music, supported by the college, the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation, the Fine Arts Society of Sarasota, and others. Her performances in the Boston area include the Latin America Vive Festival, the Disney Reimagined 100th anniversary concert at the Berklee Performance Center, a tribute to the music of Keith Jarrett, and the Latin Vocal Series at David Friend Recital Hall. Medina also serves as an educator with the Berklee City Music Preparatory Academy. She continues to blend her musical passion with a deep dedication to education and artistry.
Tania Garcia Morales, known artistically as Tani, is a singer from the Canary Islands who began her musical studies at the age of four. She trained in piano and percussion at her first music school in La Orotava and also studied flamenco, salsa, and bachata dance. While in Barcelona, she performed at venues such as Robadors 23, Jamboree 2, Harlem Jazz Club, and El Siglo, and toured Italy in summer 2023 with the Barcelona World Music Ensemble.
Tani is currently majoring in contemporary writing and production at Berklee, with songwriting electives, supported by the college and AIE, a Spanish association for artists and performers. Her performances in Boston include A Night in Brasil, the Disney Reimagined 100th anniversary concert, and Ídolos Latinos 2024. Now launching her solo career, Tani continues to develop her voice as an artist while exploring a variety of global sounds and influences.
