Pedro Secco is a guitarist, arranger, and composer from Curitiba, Brazil, currently based in Boston, where he studies contemporary writing and production and performance at Berklee College of Music. A recipient of multiple scholarships—including the Berklee World Tour Scholarship, the Ramon Stagnaro Memorial Scholarship, the John Abercrombie Scholarship, and the 2024 Latin Grammy Foundation Gibson Gives Scholarship—Secco is steadily carving his path in the world of instrumental music.

Blending his Brazilian roots with the expansive language of jazz, Secco’s music draws inspiration from the rich harmonies of Toninho Horta, the poetic depth of Milton Nascimento, and the intricate textures of Dori Caymmi, Daniel Santiago, and Pedro Martins. His sound also nods to jazz icons such as Pat Metheny, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, and Bill Frisell.

With a distinct approach to the nylon-string guitar, Secco fuses expressive melodies with elaborate arrangements and vivid orchestrations, crafting a sound that is both vibrant and introspective—a celebration of curiosity, harmony, and creative exploration.

Pedro Secco will be performing as part of Berklee’s Summer in the City 2025 concert series. View all concerts.
