Maggie Welch is an indie folk artist with a funky twist, blending reflective songwriting with powerful themes of healing and self-discovery. Currently studying music therapy and songwriting at Berklee College of Music, Welch believes deeply in the transformative power of music. Her ultimate goal is to guide others toward emotional healing through her songs.
Raised in the secluded forests of New England, Welch draws inspiration from the introspective solitude of nature, an influence that runs deep in her music. Her songs invite listeners to reflect on mental health, environmental awareness, and the complexities of personal identity. She takes influence from lyrical storytellers like Jensen McRae, Shallow Alcove, and Kevin Atwater, as well as artists such as Sammy Rae, Olivia Dean, and Melt.
An active performer and songwriter in the Boston community, Welch also works as a freelance photographer, bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to her creative work.
