Easily spotted by her face tats and fur coat, Lauren Jean is an eccentric artist who merges singer-songwriter lyricism with music that floats between R&B and soft rock. Imagine a fusion of Amy Winehouse’s raw emotion, Stevie Nicks’s mysticism, and Lola Young’s modern edge—she embodies them all. Through her songs, Jean lays her vulnerability, sensuality, and angst on the table, sharing personal experiences with queer relationships, domestic violence, grief, and resilience.

Hailing from middle-of-nowhere Ohio, Jean began her music career at 14, gigging in restaurants alongside her dad. Just a couple of years and a reality TV appearance later, she released her debut EP, WORLD OF COLOR, produced and arranged by Grammy-nominated and ACM Award–winning musician Ilya Toshinskiy. The deluxe version of the EP featured the “NEW ERA” music video, directed by two-time Emmy Award–winning cinematographer Herb Maximo.

In recent years, Jean performed with chart-topping songwriter and fellow Celina, Ohio, native Wendell Mobley. She also began fronting her own band—a powerhouse lineup of women musicians—who debuted together in Spain and have since been performing across Boston. In 2023, she headlined her hometown’s pride festival, Small Town Pride.

Now in her final year at Berklee College of Music, Jean is currently at work on her next project: a full-length album titled 180°.
