Finn Hansbury is a folk-rock songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Boston, Massachusetts. Drawing inspiration from musical and lyrical icons like Paul Simon, Hozier, and Brandi Carlile, Hansbury has a knack for pouring raw emotion into his music—and pulling it out of his audiences.

He uses his craft to express deep personal truths without sugarcoating, and it’s this unflinching honesty that draws people in. Hansbury’s intimate storytelling both charms and haunts listeners, while his skills on guitar, piano, and saxophone allow him to build captivating sonic landscapes.

Hailing from Bar Harbor, Maine, a small town on Mount Desert Island, Hansbury grew up relatively isolated from much of the outside world. Through songwriting, he offers a unique perspective that connects with like-minded individuals and challenges others to see things differently.

Often writing about his experiences as a queer person in rural America, Hansbury uses his music to empower the LGBTQ+ community and foster deeper understanding.

After a formative year at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan—writing, recording, and touring the Midwest—Hansbury chose to further hone his craft at Berklee College of Music. He now records and performs with his band in Boston’s underground singer-songwriter scene.

Finn Hansbury will be performing as part of Berklee’s Summer in the City 2025 concert series. View all concerts.
