The Residence Halls

150 Massachusetts Avenue
The Massachusetts Avenue Residence Hall has a population of 430 students living in two- and three-person rooms. Each room has its own bathroom. The beds are bunks, lofts, and individual beds depending on the size and arrangement of the rooms.

The Mass. Ave. building underwent extensive renovations, which were completed in the summer of 1999. There are practice rooms and a laundry room on each floor, and a TV lounge on the third floor. The Massachusetts Avenue Residence Hall does not have a kitchen for student use.

The college's mailroom and dining hall are located in the lower levels of the Mass. Ave. building, as are many classrooms, labs, and studios.

270 Commonwealth Avenue

Our Commonwealth Avenue Residence Hall consists of three adjoining buildings in one of Boston's nicest neighborhoods. Commonwealth Avenue itself is divided by a common, which provides a small getaway from the city setting. About a seven minute walk from the Massachusetts Avenue building, it houses 240 residents in two- and three-person rooms with shared bathrooms.

The beds are bunks and individual beds. Most resident rooms are grouped around small lounges. The abundant common space in this building allows for more socializing among its residents, and has traditionally helped foster a strong sense of community.

The Commonwealth Avenue building features excellent practice facilities, recreation and exercise rooms, laundry facilities, a TV lounge, and a public use kitchen.

98 Hemenway Street

Our small Residence Hall on Hemenway Street houses about 100 students. It is populated mostly by continuing residents and older entering students, making it generally a quieter atmosphere for study. It has two-person rooms, most with private bathrooms, and some single rooms (which are taken by our continuing residents).

The Hemenway Street building features practice rooms, laundry facilities, a TV lounge, and a public use kitchen. The beds are bunks and individual beds. The Hemenway building faces out onto the Boston Fens, a park where many residents play Frisbee and walk, run, or rollerblade on its paths.

A short walk from the Massachusetts Avenue building, the Commonwealth Avenue and Hemenway Street Residence Halls provide an opportunity to get away from the busy routine at the central building.
