Disability Services for Students
The Disability Services staff in the Counseling and Advising Center offer students with physical, learning, health, and psychiatric disabilities a wide array of supports to foster participation in, and enjoyment of, musical and educational opportunities, develop and maintain independence, and facilitate equal educational opportunities. These supports include access to classrooms, services, programs, and events at Berklee. The college fully complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
Students must provide appropriate documentation that supports their disability and the accommodations requested. Entering students are advised to send their documentation before the beginning of their first semester at the college. Documentation can be delivered to the Counseling and Advising Center, 939 Boylston Street, second floor, or mailed to the address below.

Accommodations are provided on an individual, case-by-case basis, as the needs of students with disabilities vary. Academic accommodations at Berklee College of Music may include:
- Extended time for exams
- A distraction-reduced environment for taking exams
- Recorded texts
- Help with note-taking
- Special seating arrangements
- Additional tutoring hours
- The use of tape recorders in class
- A reduced course-load*
- Priority registration
*Note: If you are receiving scholarship or financial aid, a reduced course-load could have an impact on the amount of aid you receive.
