The Office of Institutional Assessment provides guidance and support for every area of Berklee to engage in continuous and comprehensive self-evaluation. Driven by the mission “to educate, train, and develop students to excel in music as a career,” Berklee College of Music fosters an environment of intellectual curiosity and constant improvement. Consistent with this attitude is a desire to collect and analyze the information that illuminates how the College achieves its mission.
The Office of Institutional Assessment works with the entire Berklee community to gather the information required for decision-making, policy development, and strategic planning. Institutional Assessment can assist with the location of existing data for analysis, or activities such as survey design and execution.
The office also coordinates and maintains processes related to our accreditation with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, as well as any Commonwealth of Massachusetts requirements from the Department of Higher Education.
Beyond coordinating the collection of information, the office can also provide the expertise to conduct advanced analysis and interpretation of data. These resources are available to all departments interested in conducting any activity focused on planning or assessment.
