Accessibility in the Classroom: Working With Audio

Of all of the DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations), only Pro tools and Sonar are useable with a screen reader. If you are working in Logic, Digital Performer and GarageBand we will show you a few extra steps you can take so that your students can access the files you have created.

Export tracks in Logic

If you are not using Pro Tools you must export the tracks so your students can use them. To export tracks in Logic go to File--->Export--->All Tracks as Audio Files.

Bounce and Share

Bouncing files to the desktop can be the fastest way to share tracks with students either using Inside Berklee Courses or via email.

Plug-ins and Presets

Exporting plug-ins or presets is just as easy as exporting tracks. You may want to discuss with your students which plugins they have prior exporting, because they may run into problems if they don't have the same plug-ins. You can also write the plug-ins to the track just keep in mind students can not change what you have done.

Export tracks in GarageBand

By clicking on the headphone icons in GarageBand the tracks will be soloed. Export them by clicking "Share" and share tracks with students either using Inside Berklee Courses or via email.

Export channels in Reason

In Reason, click on File--->Bounce Mixer Channels. In this window you can customize which channel you want to bounce by checking the box next to it.
