Born and raised in San Jose, California, Rohith Jayaraman is a vocalist, composer, arranger, and percussionist who specializes in Carnatic (South Indian classical) vocal music and vocal percussion. As a student at Berklee College of Music, he was also one of the early members of the college’s renowned Berklee Indian Ensemble, arranging and composing for the group. After graduating summa cum laude with a degree in music therapy in 2016, Jayaraman became the assistant manager of the Berklee India Exchange.

As a vocalist, Jayaraman has performed with universally acclaimed and award-winning artists such as A. R. Rahman, Clinton Cerejo, Vijay Prakash, and Raghu Dixit, and has studied with master musicians Asha Ramesh, R. K. Shriramkumar, Vijay Siva, and T. M. Krishna. He has also been teaching Carnatic vocal music since the age of 16 throughout the United States.

Jayaraman performs annually in India at the Chennai December Music Season and is a regular session vocalist for renowned bharatanatyam dance companies both in the United States and India. Since 2012, he has been collaborating with upcoming jazz and world music artists, and is currently recording a duo album with the Jordanian and Iraqi violinist Layth Sidiq, exploring the connections between Arabic and Carnatic music.
