Patrick Charles

In August, Patrick Charles of Woodland Hills, CA, performed at the Sumida Jazz Festival in Tokyo, Japan. He is recording an album with pianist and composer Kevin Toney of the Blackbyrds. Visit 

Sean Noonan

Drummer Sean Noonan of North Easton, MA, released the album A Gambler’s Hand. It features a string quartet and incorporates jazz and classical forms. The album is the subject of a 30-minute film that was shot in Poland. 

Maureen Murphy

Maureen Murphy of Mashpee, MA, released the song “Somewhere between You & Me,” her first release since 2008. 

Bart Migal

Bart Migal of Astoria, NY, recorded and mixed Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess: New Broadway Cast Album (Cast Recording) and Sweet Little Devil, both released on PS Classics. Visit 

Mark Joggerst

Mark Joggerst of Schutterwald, Germany, co-wrote the music for the film Rising above the Blues, about the life of Jimmy Scott. The film also features Joe Pesci, Quincy Jones, James Moody, and many others. Visit 

Kishi Bashi

Kishi Bashi of Bayonne, NJ, is touring with Of Montreal and Deerfoot. He was recently profiled on NPR’s Weekend Edition and Tiny Desk Concerts series.


Brendan Burns

Brendan Burns of Cambridge, MA, released TIMESTAMP, which was recorded live at the Somerville Theatre and features Valerie Thompson ’02, Derek Von Wormer, and Jordan Ross ’12. There will be a documentary and CD release event later this fall. Visit
