Biography

As executive vice president of Interscope Geffen A&M, Nir Seroussi is responsible for signing and developing new talent while working across the company's roster to expand artists' global reach. In his previous role as president of Sony Music U.S. Latin, Seroussi had enormous success in signing major acts such as Gloria Estefan, Prince Royce, and Enrique Iglesias. But he isn’t just after big names. Seroussi also searches for the most talented new artists he can find, and that has been critical in a career that has included having multiple no. 1 hits on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart and nurturing acts such as Los Cuates de Sinaloa and Gerardo Ortiz.

Born in Israel and raised in Venezuela, Seroussi experienced a variety of musical styles throughout his childhood thanks to his family, including his pianist mother, Aida. He has played piano since he was 5 and guitar since he was 12. Seroussi moved to the United States after he was accepted at Berklee College of Music, from which he graduated summa cum laude.

After graduation, Seroussi was general manager at Insignia Music for two years. After leaving Insignia, he spent two years as a songwriter before taking a job at EMI Latin as vice president of marketing and A&R. From there, in 2004, he became vice president of marketing and A&R at Sony Music U.S. Latin, then managing director, and finally president in 2014. His roster of artists includes Bomba Estéreo, Ileana Cabra, De La Tierra, and many others. He is largely responsible for Sony’s robust list of regional Mexican artists, including in some cases brand partnerships and the development of new content.

Seroussi has won the Chai Lifeline Legacy of Hope Award and two BMI Latin Awards for original songs (2005 and 2014).
