Berklee was out in full force at the 30th annual SXSW Music and Media Conference in Austin, where the college hosted its official SXSW Party: Boston and Beyond, at Brush Square Park. Berklee’s 11th annual SXSW event was curated by The Red Room @ Cafe 939, Alumni Affairs, Heavy Rotation Records (HRR), and media sponsor Vanyaland.

The party featured performances by up-and-coming alumni and students, including all-female garage rock trio Lady Pills (HRR), modern pop act M+E (HRR), electro-pop duo mar | co, and psych-rock project Plastic Waves—all from Boston. Seattle noise pop band Great Grandpa, Los Angeles dreamy fuzz pop trio IAN, and Brooklyn electronic rock quintet Rann were also featured.

Vanyaland streamed the event at VanyaRadio and unveiled a new feature compiling audio, photos, video, and social media in real time. Check out its SXSW Boston and Beyond 2016: Live Timeline.

While the weather started out a little gray and gloomy, it cleared up in time for an enthusiastic audience—numbering more than 1,000 throughout the day—to enjoy an afternoon of great music and free oysters.

Berklee was well represented all across SXSW, with more than 60 alumni and students performing official and unofficial shows during the festival. Read more at Berklee-Blogs.
